Professional Profile

Translator English - Dutch, American-English - Dutch, African-English - Dutch, African-Dutch - Dutch, Scottisch-English - Dutch. German - Dutch.

Experience and Qualifications

I'm specialized in literature, fairytales, Gothic script (also known as Fraktur script) written and printed (see below). Translated: "The Sotweed Factor" from John Barth, 795 pages high-standard American-English into Dutch. A great help with this was for me Claudia Milstead, former assistent Professor Literature (retired) at the University of Northern Colorado, USA.
"Rapidly round the Bend" from C. Hamilton Ellis, an humorous booklet about the rise of the railways of England in special.
"Thistle and Thyme" from Sorche Nic Leodhas. (Scottish-English.)
"Living Food for an Optimum Health" from Brian R. Clement.
“Merlin” from Robert Nye. (This was already translated by someone else, but it was a nice finger exercise.)
“The Devon Maid” from Keats, a poem.
“Lied vom kleinen wind” from Bertold Brecht. (German)
Several fairytales for my daughter, English to Dutch and German to Dutch.
Translated from Dutch into English: Several travel accounts for the Foundation Zanskar Schools.
Furthermore I’m a specialist in transcribing documents written in the Fraktur Alphabet (also known as Gotic Alphabet) to the Latin Alphabet.
See for this: https://archive.org/details/DieBruederGrimmDasMarchenHausInKassel , about the life and works of the Brothers Grimm, and also https://archive.org/details/altdeutschhisto00bolagoog, this is the original document “Altdeutsch”) and https://archive.org/details/Altdeutsch, an historical novel from Conrad von Bolanden. The original document was written in the 19th century in a very archaic German dialect.
